What is the Modern Samurai?現代のサムライとは？
「サムライ」の定義はたくさんあります。しかしわたしたちは、それを単に武士階級だった人々のことではなく、プリミティブな（日本）人の「精神性」「人間性」を持った人々のことだと定義します。
それはもしかしたら、長く平和を保った「縄文」時代にまでさかのぼる精神のことかもしれません。
「元始、女性は実に太陽であった。真正の人であった。」（平塚らいてう）
わたしたちのいう「サムライ」は、単に男性のことを指すものではありません。ただひたすらに元来人間が持って生まれた「思いやり」（利他的な精神）に生きる人々のことではないかと感じます。
ある動物が種の違う動物を助けたい（猫がヒヨコをかわいがるなど）といった姿にも、同等の精神性が宿っているかもしれません。おなかがすいた人に無条件で食べ物を与えてあげるアンパンマンの精神こそがサムライではないかと感じます。
「世界平和のため」「子どもたちのため」など利他的なことを声高に言っても、実はそう言っている自分だけが好きな方々がたくさんいます。何かしらの人を騙せても、自分の中の「真」には嘘はつけません。
「武士に二言はない」と言う人もいます。しかし、もし自分が間違えているのを悟り、その言動を省みることが出来たら、その人は本当の「サムライ」の精神性を持っている強い人ではないでしょうか。
ただひたすらに自分の中の「真実」に向き合う。それが「サムライ」ではないかと感じます。
早すぎる世界の流れの中で、「いかに生きるか」を考えることすら難しくなっている現代。
わたしたちは、忘れられた「人間性」を回復するため、映像や演技・パフォーマンスといった「非言語的要素」を多分に含んだエンターテインメントで、『サムライ』とは何かを求めて行きたいと思っております。
女性だけで構成される殺陣パフォーマンスチーム『凜派（RIN-PA）』は、「凜とした強さと美しさを持つ女性」をコンセプトとして作られたもので、この精神性を強く引き継いでいます。
そして2025年、凜派の妹分的な存在の、「現代のサムライ」をコンセプトとした新たな女性だけのアクションアクティングチームを結成します。
両チームは、これからステージや映像において、広く活動して参りたいと思っております。
わたしたちのつくる俳優、そして映画・映像は、すべて「いかに生きるか」を考えるサムライを描くことにあります。
There are many definitions of “samurai.” However, we define it not simply as people who belonged to the warrior class, but as people who possesses the ‘spirituality’ and “humanity” of primitive (Japanese) people.
It may be a spirit that traces back to the Jomon period, which maintained peace for a long time.

The “samurai” we refer to is not simply a term for men. We feel it refers to people who live solely by the “compassion” (altruistic spirit) that humans are born with.
Even in the behavior of an animal wanting to help a different species (such as a cat caring for a chick), the same spiritual essence may reside. The spirit of Anpanman, who unconditionally gives food to those who are hungry, is what we feel embodies the samurai.
There are people who loudly proclaim altruistic ideals such as “for world peace” or “for the sake of children,” but in reality, they are simply people who like to hear themselves say such things. Even if they can deceive some people, they cannot deceive the truth within themselves.
Some say, “A samurai never goes back on the word.” However, if one realizes one's mistake and reflects on one's words and actions, is that person not a strong individual who possesses the true spirit of a samurai?
Constantly facing the “truth” within oneself. That is what a “samurai” is, we feel.
In today's world, where the pace of change is too fast, it has become difficult to even think about “how to live”.
We aim to recover the forgotten “humanity” through entertainment that incorporates a significant amount of “non-verbal elements” such as films and acting, seeking to explore what a “samurai” truly is.
The all-female sword fighting performance team “RIN-PA” was created with the concept of “women with a dignified strength and beauty”, and strongly carries on this spirit.
In 2025, we will form a new all-female action acting team with the concept of “modern samurai,” which will serve as a sister group to RIN-PA.
Both teams aim to actively engage in stage and film performances moving forward.
The actors we create, as well as our films, all revolve around depicting samurai who contemplate “how to live”.

凜派 RIN-PA
『凜派』(RIN-PA)は、「凜とした強さと美しさを持つ女性」をコンセプトとして結成された、女性のみで構成される殺陣パフォーマンスチームです。
古武道をベースとした殺陣と、日本舞踊（新舞踊）を組み合わせたパフォーマンスをご披露しております。
2021年の結成以来、国内はもとよりフランス・イギリス・オーストラリアなど海外でも公演を行なっております。

RIN-PA is a female-only sword fighting performance team founded on the concept of “women with dignified strength and beauty”.
The team performs a combination of sword fighting performance based on Japanese traditional martial arts and Japanese dance.
Since its formation in 2021, the team has performed not only in Japan but also overseas in countries such as France, the United Kingdom, and Australia.

2025年、「凜派」の妹分チームとして、新たにアクションアクティングチームを結成します。
「現代の女サムライ」をコンセプトとして、様々なアクションを含めたアクティングを舞台や映像で展開して行きます。
9月にメンバー発表予定です。
In 2025, we will form a new action acting team as a sister team to RIN-PA.
Based on the concept of “modern female samurai”, they will perform various actions on stage and on screen.
The members will be announced in September.
Sword Performance Class "HACHIEN-JYUKU"初心者向け殺陣教室『八艶塾』
八艶塾
『八艶塾』は、初心者向けの殺陣教室です。俳優をやられている方はもちろん、小学生からシニアの一般の方々まで、親切丁寧にご指導いたします。
現在は、都内にて週1回（月曜日または水曜日の夜）のペースで開講しております。
東京ビッグサイトで行なわれる「デザインフェスタ」の凜派のステージなどへ、一緒に出演することも可能です。

HACHIEN-JYUKU is a sword performance class for beginners. We offer friendly and thorough instruction to everyone from elementary school students to seniors as same as actors.
Currently, classes are held once a week (on Monday or Wednesday evenings) in Tokyo.
You can also perform alongside us on the RIN-PA stage at Design Festa, held at Tokyo Big Sight.
